Wider range of ODE solenoid valve coils

-

“We now have the widest range of water solenoid valve coil voltages in New Zealand.” This his is the claim made by ODENZ the NZ supplier of ODE liquid and steam solenoid valves.

The company says the usual coil voltages are; 12DC, 24DC, 24AC, 110AC, 240AC and 400AC. In commenting on the existing coil range an ODENZ spokesperson said: “We have a genuine 240-volt AC coil, better suited to o NZ conditions than 220-volt coils.”

More obscure voltages are now supported including l di 6DC, 12AC found on some water treatment applications, 48AC and DC, 110DC sometimes used on railway applications, as well as 230DC.

Latching coils are also now available. These only require a short DC voltage pulse to switch a valve on and have it remain on. To switch the valve off again only requires a short DC pulse with the polarity reversed. These coils effectively convert a single solenoid spring return valve to operate like a double solenoid valve.

ODENZ company director John Kershaw added: “In addition to these coils saving power, they are really useful for battery operated valves as the valve can stay on but not consume power thereby extending battery life.

“All of these solenoid coils can operate a range of ODE valves from 1/8” BSP up to 3” BSP, which makes our range very flexible in terms of changing coils and carrying stock.”
