10 YEARS OF CHALLENGING THE STATUS QUO
FROM A TWO- PERSON Christchurch start- up to a fortystrong Trans-Tasman team, BVT Engineering Professional Services (BVT) says it has evolved exponentially over the past decade and celebrated its 10th anniversary early last month.
Matt Bishop – ‘not your traditional engineer’ – founded BVT with the goal of advancing the engineering space through creativity, technological innovation and collaboration.
The company believes it has since pioneered the use of technology powered solutions and workflow techniques and states it has become one of the most highly soughtafter companies in the interior engineering and seismic environment, setting new benchmarks in the engineering and construction industries.
“We are not a traditional consultancy, for which I make no apologies,” says Bishop. “We are driven to challenge the status quo and push the boundaries to develop new and better ways to do things. We have a culture that embraces change and encourages and rewards disruptive thinking.”
This has included appointing Ceinwen McNeil, a global professional services growth consultant, to CEO earlier this year.
“A non- engineer, whose leadership, execution and commercial acumen are second to none, has already had a major impact on the business and the way we are strategically approaching our next phase of growth,” states Bishop. “Having Ceinwen at the helm means I can continue to focus on the latest technological trends, capability uplift and ensuring we are at the forefront of methodologies that combine engineering, coding and digital advancements. These are mission critical for the future of the construction industry, and our clients are looking to us to lead the way.”
BVT says it will continue to make advancements within New Zealand’s engineering sector, ‘shaking up the industry for the better’ with a variety of ‘new and exciting’ initiatives on the cards, including increasing the number of women in engineering through The Diversity Agenda.
