HAZY DAY-ZY...

The latest craze among craft brewers is for beers that are hazy because they’re not filtered like other brews. Hazy IPAS are floral and citrusy, smooth and creamytextured and less bitter than other styles of IPAS.

Look out for Tuatara’s Suspense Hazy IPA (500ml

7.1 per cent) and Garage Project’s monthly hazy IPA releases available from their cellar doors and online. Unfiltered white wines are also gaining ground. Andrew Fox of Silver Wing Wines has crafted an organic sauvignon semillon blend fermented in a 675-litre ceramic egg with wild yeasts and no additions or filtration to create a cloudy, textural white. Silver Wing Waipara Sauvignon Semillon 2018 ($30) is available from silverwingwines.co.nz.
