Riflemans Takes Aim

Sacred Hill’s Riflemans Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay 2016 ($66) recently took out not only the trophy for Champion White Wine of the Show at the Six Nations Wine Challenge, but was also named the show’s Champion Wine. It beat 600 other wines privately submitted by the top wine critics from New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Chile, Canada and the US. These judges are asked to list their top 100 local wines for entry, and it’s the only wine awards where entry is by invitation only.
