NEW BRANDS ON THE BLOCK

One of our best-loved brands has had a facelift of sky-high proportions. The Tiger Moth motif on the label of Hawke’s Bay’s Alpha Domus range has given way to an aeronautical drawing. The change is to mark the Ham family’s 30 years of winegrowing in Bridge Pā, while still acknowledging the historic aircraft which takes off from the adjacent aerodrome. “Tiger Moths represent excitement, endurance, heritage, excellence and something well made. All qualities that resonate with us,” says Paul Ham, managing director and one of the vineyard’s five founding directors. The names of his mother, father and brothers spell out the Alpha while Domus is Latin for ‘home’.
