Don’t let the simple name fool you, there’s a reason why The French Cafe was listed among the world’s 1000 most outstanding restaurants (for two years in a row). Although the food and atmosphere is simple, it’s done really, really, well – just what you want for wholesome and flavoursome dishes.

PARIS BUTTER, HERNE BAY

This newcomer has easily joined the big league of exquisite French restaurants in the city. Paris Butter boasts a light, fresh take on the classic French bistro. The head chef has more than 16 years of experience in French dining.

LE CHEF, AUCKLAND CBD

A cross between a cafe, bistro and bar, Le Chef is the perfect French spot in the city to dine or enjoy a drop of red with almost anyone. The menu is renewed every month to make sure the freshest produce is used to complement a range of French and New Zealand wines.

LA CIGALE BISTRO, PARNELL
