Held Friday and Saturday, February 17 and 18, from 10am to 2pm

Many retirement villages offer their residents some garden space but at Remuera Gardens you are nestled within one.

‘‘From every apartment there is a view of our luscious gardens. With over 200 rose bushes and camellias bursting with colour and a variety of mature trees, shrubs and plants, it is truly an enjoyable experience to stroll around the grounds,’’ says Lyn Ellis.

Nestled in the lovely gardens are the beautiful apartments, all fully refurbished with brand new appliances and fittings.

You can choose between a oneor two-bedroom bedroom independent apartment, standalone villa, or serviced apartment for those who may need a little more care.

Remuera Gardens residents enjoy an excellent range of facilities, including a 45-seat tiered cinema showing a range of classic and contemporary features, and an indoor heated pool, spa and gym for keeping fit and relaxing.

Attractive indoor and outdoor community areas are enjoyed for a daily chat or game of snooker, table tennis, cards or pe´tanque.

Residents look forward to weekly trips, communal dinners and social groups arranged around their interests, which includes dining out, visits to the theatre and men’s outings.

A handy shopping bus allows you to take care of your grocery shopping with ease.

Tuesday bus trips are a favourite and this month will take in the Auckland Fish Markets, the Boric Food Market, the Whenuapai Meat Merchant, as well as a coffee and tea lover’s trip.

The Dine Out Group is headed to a selected restaurant for some fine cuisine.

The Wednesday Wanderers are off to New Lynn Gardens and the

following week Matakana, topping off their month with a visit to the Hamilton Gardens.

The men’s club will enjoy a trip to Wenderholm for a barbecue.

On site, residents are looking forward to a jewellery display in the main lounge.

Movies for the month include Matilda the Musical and All is True, as well as ever-popular episodes of The Crown and much more.

‘‘There is something for everyone at Remuera Gardens, from the beauty of the gardens themselves to all the activities to

choose from. Come and see for yourself by joining us on Friday and Saturday, February 17 and 18, from 10am to 2pm. We would love to show you our home,’’ says Lyn.
