Aussie fit­ness su­per­star Kayla Itsines gained cult sta­tus on In­sta­gram thanks to her be­fore­and-af­ter pics from clients us­ing her Bikini Body Guide (BBG) e-book. She’s re­cently made her guides even more user-friendly by launch­ing a pay-monthly (or yearly) work­out app com­plete with meal plans.

What do you get for your bucks?

Af­ter the seven-day free trial, for AUD$19.99 per month or AUD$119.94 per year, you get ac­cess to a va­ri­ety of dif­fer­ent work­outs, in­clud­ing Kayla’s sig­na­ture 28-minute HIIT (high­in­ten­sity in­ter­val train­ing) ses­sions, yoga, post-preg­nancy work­outs and weight train­ing with other fe­male in­struc­tors. Be­cause the work­outs are de­signed to get you stronger each week, the ex­er­cises progress with you along the way.

What’s it like?

I’ve never been as sore as I was af­ter my first BBG ses­sion — they’re in­tense! It’s 28 min­utes of al­most non-stop ex­er­tion but the time flies as most work­outs op­er­ate on a seven-minute cir­cuit. You can choose work­outs that in­cor­po­rate weights if you like, but you’ll get just as much of a burn do­ing it on the floor of your lounge with noth­ing but your own body weight.
