HUSTLE OR BUST?

Spend it, save it, or make some more. Whatever your M.O, it’s time to get savvy with your money – whether that’s spending it more wisely or finding other ways to rake in the dough

IT’S CALLED A SIDE HUSTLE

Millennials didn’t invent the side hustle, but they’ve sure claimed it as their own. If you’re in your 20s or 30s and don’t have an ingenious way of raking in extra cash, it’s probably because you just haven’t figured out what your side hustle should be yet. Some people start up a side business because they need extra cash. Others do it to find fulfilment outside their nine-to-five job. Whatever the motive, it’s now such a rite of passage that tech-savvy training hub General Assembly runs a side-hustling course. Before you begin, a word to the wise: to avoid being stung with a huge tax bill at year end (it can happen when you earn two incomes), ask your primary employer to withhold more tax. This should cover any shortfall and may even result in a return – which you’re allowed to spend on shoes.
