SEVEN DAYS

A chic week of styling tweaks

-

1 Groove is in the heart

Trippy prints will help lift your mood – see the tie-dye at Prabal Gurung, Prada, Stella McCartney, Paco Rabanne and Ralph Lauren, and more-is-more prints at Michael Kors (left), Versace and Gucci. The key to prints now?

The bigger the clash, the better.

2 Craft class

Bags that look like they’ve been picked up while on holiday offer a homespun alternative to the minimalist versions of late, with straw, raffia, macramé, shell-adorned and woven-leather options at Loewe (above) and more.

3 Big ups

Tiny sunglasses are done. The obvious next step? Larger

than life, and capable of providing actual shade, like

those at Gucci (right), Balenciaga,

Miu Miu and Dior.

4 Elegantly waisted

Belts are it, from oversized buckles at Valentino to thick belts at Burberry, and ’80s-style logo chains at Chanel and Escada (right).

5 Beige brigade

Bold colour not for you? Full beige, as seen at Jil Sander, Burberry, Dior, Acne, Chloé and Loewe, is another

styling trick of the moment. Wear neutral tones elegantly

head to toe, or teamed with orange, red, purple or white.

6 They were all yellow

As seen at APC (left), Marc Jacobs, Sacai and Rochas, a yellow coat is far from classic but a piece you’ll return to when you want all eyes on you. Locally, try Twenty-seven Names’ pineappleFruju-hued coat.

7 Colouring in

Freshen up your palette by mixing in unexpected shades. Take your cue from Valentino’s triumphant couture show (above left): think orange with purple, pink and mint green, or green, brown and ballet pink.
