Kiwi-Malaysian wellness and lifestyle blogger Jessie Gurunathan has basically been living out of a suitcase for six years. Along with her ex-All Black partner Adam Thomson, she’s been splitting her time between New Zealand, Australia and Japan, and they’ve just set up a new home base in Bali, where they work as content creators. Jessie’s become a pro at packing, so we asked for her carry-on essentials.

Shhh Silk travel pillow, $157. I’m an insomniac, so having a comfortable pillow when I travel is a must. This one from Shhh Silk is the answer to my prayers. Not only is it a perfect in-flight pillow, but I also use it in place of the hotel pillows when I reach my destination.

Blać Cosmetics Anti-Aging Tinted Moisturiser with SPF30, $60. I use this when I land so I’ll hop off the plane looking semi-decent. This is one of my absolute favourite crueltyfree beauty brands and also happens to be owned by two Kiwi makeup artists.

Jeuneora Naked Collagen, $75. Collagen is my number-one beauty must and this is the most travel-friendly Jeuneora product. The packaging is compact, plus the powder is odourless, flavourless and can be added to anything hot or cold.

Silke London hair wrap, $83. This is ideal for protecting my hair and keeping it silky smooth during flights.

Tailor Moisture, $59. A cruelty-free day and night facial moisturiser with zero nasties, this is a travelbeauty necessity for me. I blend it with my serum and slather it all over my face, neck and hands during longhaul flights.

Elle + Riley cashmere scarf, $495. My Alana scarf goes with practically everything and makes a great blanket when I’m cold on a plane, train or bus and feel like curling up and having a snooze.

Black Chicken Remedies Axilla Deodorant Paste Mini, $11. From Oh Natural, this is hands down the most effective cruelty-free natural deodorant I’ve used.
