I adore my 12 and seven-year old, but I’m the first to admit that the C-sections necessary for a safe arrival of them both have left my lower abdomen looking far from bikini-worthy. I know I’m not alone, with many other women my age struggling with a lack of strength in stomach muscles causing the ‘post-pregnancy pouch’. MY EXPERIENCE My problem area is my stomach, and although I’ve lost my baby weight and have a healthy BMI, I have a lower stomach which doesn’t reflect the rest of my figure. After the technician checked my weight and height to ascertain my BMI, I was thrilled to find I was the perfect candidate. Callipers were used to measure the area, and before and after shots were taken to check on the progress. Next I lay down and the area was mapped out to ensure it fitted well into the machine, which essentially causes suction around the problem patch. Next the area is sucked into the machine causing quite a tight grip. This can be uncomfortable for some and can hurt a little, but I had no discomfort; more a feeling that I had never experienced. The device remains in place for around 70 minutes and you can add on a facial treatment to take your mind off the suction.
AFTER Once the timer chimes, the machine is ready to be removed. The area will look slightly different, and feel freezing cold and firm to touch (I couldn’t help myself). The technician then gently massages the area to warm it up and help break down frozen fat cells. Minutes later, you’re ready to get dressed!
PAIN FACTOR While some may experience a small amount of discomfort, it really is painless. Those prone to bruising might see some post treatment, but I found it pain-free and simple.
THE RESULTS I was a little dubious about whether this would do what it says, but the before and after shots show the improvement. I noticed a reduction in my ‘problem’ spot after my first treatment, and I’m keen to get the final two done to banish it once and for all. It’s recommended to have 12 weeks between treatments to allow fat to be thoroughly removed from your body. So while it is definitely an investment of time and patience, I’d recommend it to anyone with disobedient bulges that won’t budge.
