LOVESTRUCK

-

Your love of art will be reignited this spring, with a visit to Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki’s latest exhibition: Romancing the Collection. Described as a love letter to the city’s public art collection, the exhibition cleverly challenges the changing perception of love within not only the art realm, but society as a whole. “The exhibition traverses time to show just how tastes have changed in the decades through which our city’s art collection has grown,” says Auckland Art Gallery director Kirsten Lacy. With an array of artworks that will set your heart aflutter, this exhibition showcases the evolution of romance in art, from 19th-century pieces by the likes of Gottfried Lindauer and Charles F Goldie, to Picasso, and more. Romancing the Collection will be on display until the end of May 2023.
