YOUR LOCAL NEWS
If you like to skateboard - and you live in Franklin, you are in luck.
In December last year, Pukekohe’s new skate park opened - thanks to the Franklin Local Board and the Franklin Youth Advisory Board.
It’s proven to be a hit with local skateboarders and scooter riders - every time I drive past, it’s a hive of activity. It certainly is a fabulous recreational asset for the town.
This weekend, it’s Waiuku’s turn, with the official opening of the town’s skate park improvements on Sunday.
The local board and the Waiuku Lions Club will do the honours of opening the upgrade of the Massey Park facility around 11am, with celebrations including skate demos, a sausage sizzle and skating fun, right through to 1pm.
It’s going to be a great event - we’ll be there to take photos of all the fun - and if you plan on coming along too, don’t forget your safety helmet. Have a great weekend.
