Town paving update: Auckland Transport says the last 100 sq m of paving to be done in Kitchener Rd to complete Stage 2 of the town centre paving upgrade has arrived in New Zealand and works has been programmed to start this week. They estimate the job to be completed within the month. There should be minimal disruption. All the paving has been sold now and the profits have gone to purchase another set of town centre flags and the repair of three flag tracks that have been damaged.

Waiuku Blast to the Past 2018: This is on Saturday, November 10, with the rain save date November 11. We always try to hold the event as close as possible to Guy Fawkes but this is dependent on pyrotechnics. The show wowed huge crowds last year and we hope to bring you an even more exciting event this year.

Christmas Parade theme: The NZ Steel Waiuku Christmas Parade is on Saturday, December 8, with rain save date of December 9. This year’s theme is ‘‘A Clean Green Recycled Xmas’’. This is a fantastic way to continue with the environmentallyfriendly initiatives that we are working on for our community to become zero-waste.

Waiuku Trails: Its great to see the Waiuku Trails proceeding and the first of the chosen areas soon to break soil. This is a great opportunity for Waiuku to enhance the visitor experience for tourists but also for our community to be able to enjoy lovely walks around our gorgeous harbour. T. A huge thank you to Barry Gibbon, the committee and the local board who have allocated $300,000 towards the project.
