Kia ora,

It was a sad day in the Franklin County News office on Friday, as we farewelled valued staff member, reporter Briar Hubbard.

Briar came to us for work experience as a university journalism student and impressed us so much, we hired her as soon as she graduated.

That was a few years ago now, and during her time with FCN and Stuff, Briar has produced excellent print and photographic work, and has proven to be a real talent in creating video.

We wish Briar all the best with her new role in the city.

We will soon be in the process of recruiting a new reporter to replace Briar, and once that is done, we look forward to introducing our new team member to the community.
