Evapo­tran­spi­ra­tion hap­pens when a plant re­leases wa­ter onto the out­side of its leaves, the liq­uid wa­ter turns into a gas (wa­ter vapour) which is re­leased into the air. It’s just like sweat­ing for plants and it cools them down.
