Wanaka is a town in the Queen­stown- Lakes dis­trict of Otago with a pop­u­la­tion of 9036. It’s name­sake, Lake Wanaka, is New Zealand’s fourth largest, cov­er­ing 192km2. Wanaka is pop­u­lar for the many out­door pur­suits in the area—from sky­div­ing and kayak­ing on the lake to ski­ing and snow­board­ing on the nearby Tre­ble Cone Ski Area in the win­ter sea­sons, or vis­it­ing the beau­ti­ful Crown Range and Mount As­pir­ing Na­tional Park.
