Hallertau owners Steve and Hayley Plowman have developed a stylish, all-season indoor-outdoor oasis where an impressive outdoor kitchen happily coexists with stainless steel tanks of freshly brewed beer. Heated seating is a godsend on colder days and a retractable roof keeps the courtyard comfortable all year round. Michael van de Elzen oversees a menu far removed from typical pub grub, where curried cauliflower with smoked mozzarella pizza sits comfortably beside the likes of grain-finished scotch fillet and mushroom butter, wood-grilled gurnard, rosemary-rubbed chicken or toasted sorghum and goat cheese salad. Service is attentive and there is typically live entertainment at weekends.
