TRUE FOOD & YOGA
In these health-conscious times, aligning a bistro and bar with a yoga studio seems an entirely sensible proposition. The heritage building boasts floor-to-ceiling windows, plus a generous patio, both of which afford fantastic views out over Okahu Bay (the lovely yoga studio has the same top vista). Nic Watt oversees the kitchen and influences from his other gaff, the city’s high-end Japanese Masu, are evident on the menu, as in the kingfish sashimi with sesame and daikon. Kudos also to the hot chocolate pudding, which gets a genius umami kick from miso. Elsewhere, there are bistro classics such as confit duck, along with nods to the cleaneating brigade via the likes of activated grains and zoodles. Whether you’re omming or imbibing, this is a fantastic spot.
