Good Food Guide - - Bay Of Plenty Taupo -

Elegant tasselled light shades and bold artworks lining the walls give this eatery on Tauranga’s The Strand an exciting, modern feel. The outdoor dining area is a great spot for people-watching when it’s warmer, and spacious, curved booths are inviting during the winter months. The menu is all about pan-asian sharing plates – think tempura eggplant with soy caramel sauce; rich, flavoursome mapo tofu with free-range chicken mince and cubes of roast pork; and a poke bowl of raw Aoraki salmon in a light soy dressing. Don’t bypass the desserts either – banana spring rolls with coconut custard and Doris plum semifreddo with matcha meringue kisses were two recent highlights. Service is friendly and professional and the drinks list has something for everyone, including plenty of by-the-glass wine options.
