According to the New Zealand Health Survey 2017/2018, 32 percent of adults were categorised as obese – that’s one in three adults – up from 27 percent in 2006/2007. Obesity, is a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, and some musculoskeletal conditions and cancers. Healthy Families NZ is one initiative seeking to help families make better choices about their health. healthyfamilies.govt.nz
