Lie back and relax
If you don’t have the luxury of time to hike to a hot spring, float therapy is another option. Based on a scientific approach to deep relaxation called Restricted Environmental Stimulation Technique (REST) , the approach involves floating in darkness in a pod of warm water buoyed by 40 per cent magnesium sulphate (Epsom salts). This affects areas of the brain devoted to processing sensory information, further increasing the depth of mental relaxation. While you float, your body is relieved of stress and you feel completely weightless.
