Young eco warrior
Twelve-year-old Australian Shalise Leesfield is helping protect the ocean by collecting discarded fishing line from the beaches near her home in Lake Cathie, NSW. She has managed to get a fishing line collection bin installed there and uses the discarded fishing line to make bracelets, with proceeds donated to marine conservation. Leesfield has also been granted Environmental Protection Act funding so she can continue to install fishing line collection bins in the region.
