Afirst for Australasia, Essano has launched shampoo and conditioner bottles made from recycled plastic bottles.

The new bottles are made from rPET, which is 100 per cent pre-used, recycled material that is also 100 per cent recyclable. Essano began the process two years ago.

Essano’s co-founder and hair expert Shane Young says, “As part of our partnership with Eco Cert, the world’s largest organic certifier, we are constantly conscious of reducing waste. By moving to rPET we will repurpose 56 tonnes of pre-used plastic that may have otherwise ended up in landfill.

“We’re also doing it local and closing the loop. This is just the first step.”

The bottles also contain 25 per cent less plastic per bottle than the average haircare product and by doing this the new amber bottle will be removing 16 tonnes of plastic from the environment every year. Yep, Essano sell a lot of shampoo which is why Good is so happy about this move.

The new rPET bottles feature a helpful ‘Hair to Help’ scale, designed to help you quickly identify which product is best suited to your hair type.

The good news for fans is the plantbased formulas remain the same. Key natural ingredients include argan oil, keratin complex, acai berry and coconut milk. es
