True Islam Roadshow and Qur’an Exhibition

Hamilton News - - OPINION / NEWS -

A Meet a Muslim roadshow that seeks to remove misunderstandings about Islam and dispel the many myths around terrorism and Jihad will be in Hamilton on Saturday.

The True Islam Roadshow and Qur’an Exhibition is organised by Muslin organisation Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at New Zealand, and all interested Hamiltonians are invited.

A spokesman for the organisers said the campaign is an attempt to help encourage dialogue and remove misconceptions about the faith.

Various translations of the Islamic holy scripture will be on display, including the Kuranu Tapu (the Qur’an in te reo).

“We also encourage the public to come and just meet “meet a Muslim”, engage in dialogue and bridge gaps of misunderstanding. We also hold coffee, cake and true Islam sessions throughout the day where the public can have an informal and candid discussion on any topic of their choice. It always proves to be a hit,” the spokesman said.

■ The free event runs from 10am to 4pm in the Chartwell Room at Hamilton Gardens. Short seminars on Qur’an and terrorism start at 10.30am, 1pm and 3pm.
