■ INDOOR BOWLS Waimata

The Waimata Indoor Bowling Club held their annual Championsh­ip Triples On Tuesday 14th with a great turnout.

There were some really tight games but eventually we found our outright winners — Betty Thomas, Ruth Scott and Graeme Morrissey. Well done to all who entered.

Waihi Beach RSA

The club held a successful club night of 2x4x2 games. Sixteen players battled it out with lots of laughter. The only four winner was Ken Rollo and Nelsey Jordon.

The team that tried the hardest was Hazel Johnstone and Helen Meiklejohn. Raffles were won by Heather Lewis and Kay Lane.

Several members played on Saturday at the Waihi Associatio­n Singles. Neal Mikkelsen qualified but was beaten in the next round.

Hazel Johnstone and Neal Mikkelsen represente­d the club in the Thames Valley Championsh­ip pairs on Sunday, but failed to qualify.

Two teams of four players will travel to Tauranga on the weekend to compete in the Chartered Club challenge.

■ DARTS Waihi Beach RSA

A quiet night for last week’s darts, and Glen Grindlay with Gayle Rollo were the outright winners with four straight wins. Runner up after a play off went to Brian Herbert. Men’s highest score was won by Glen 140, and for the women Susan Harrison 117. Jenni Orbell- Proctor was the winner of the raffle. Same again next week.

■ SNOOKER Waihi Beach RSA

Tuesday pairs. 23 Players this week with all games highly contested with good scores. Winner Peter Fraser, Runner up Colin Smith, 3rd equal. Ian Heriot and Barry Hunt. Highest break Graham Stewart, Lucky draw Ken Martin, Raffle No 1 Jimmy Ewing, Raffle No 2 Jimmy Ewing. Thursday singles.

It was a full house with 16 players. winner Colin Smith 161 points, Runner up Colin Old 152 points, 3rd Allan Dower 146 points. It was certainly a Colin day this week.

■ 8 BALL Bowentown Boat Club

Results for Thursday, August 16 — Winners: Dave Croker and John Fagan. Runners-up: Dave Giles and Grant Bagshaw. Highest Break: Dave Croker. Raffle Winners: Keith Richards, Grant Bagshaw and John Fagan.
