SPORT ‘N’ ACTION

- By JO HEATH Co-ordinator

There’s the term 3 holidays over and back to school this week. The holidays were a well-needed break for many kids and the holiday programmes went well, with lots of kids enjoying the activities provided at the Event Centre and around town.

The Blue Light Team was on board again with indoor games in the Event Centre. They all had heaps of fun. Thanks to the Blue Light Team — you are all awesome!

Also in the Waihi Event Centre the hall was packed with kids doing inline skating. Kids skated and used scooters for three hours of fun. Thanks to Waihi Miners Inline hockey club for doing this. Your club volunteers are also awesome.

Waihi Tennis club held a junior holiday tennis programme with coaching for all juniors. The kids had a full-on few hours and learnt some great skills. Waihi Junior tennis starts the first week of term 4, Mondays after school at the Waihi Tennis Club in Baker St. Bring the kids along — I know they’ll have fun. Thanks Sue for organising this.
