WAIHI GOLF
There was a great turnout of members on Saturday November 10 for Closing Day and Top Cat/Top Dog final. It was a beautiful day, and with 85 in the field, the starters efficiently sent the players out to multiple tees for a shotgun start. The course was in superb condition and there were many outstanding scores.
During the season, women and men who had earned the weekly Player of the Week titles qualified for Top Cat and Dog finals on Closing Day, played with the rest of the field in a nett competition. Waihi Beach Soul Beauty Rooms sponsored the women’s awards throughout the season, and Katikati Panelworks & Car Painters sponsored the men’s Section. In the final, Kaylene Croker with a massive 58 nett won the Top Cat title, runner up Kay Marshall 67. Brian Robinson won the Top Dog title with an impressive 63 nett, runner up Norm Sanderson 66.
