It will be all go at

Waihi East School as they gear up for the Christmas Carnival Twilight Market.

Board of Trustees deputy chairwoman Michelle Burr says the response from the school wha¯nau and community has been incredible.

“We have had some wonderful donations of items for our Silent Auction: Billabong and Roxy handbags, Pandora earrings, a gorgeous wall hanging, Sunbeam blender, and so much more.”

She says the students love the fun atmosphere of the Twilight Market and helping on the stalls.

“It’s lovely for them to show their families what they have been creating for the market. We have a variety of handmade Christmas decorations to sell, beautiful wands, slime and lots more.

“Students are putting on entertainment during the market and there will be singing, dancing and a puppet show which will be great fun.”

Classes will also have artwork that they have been working on this term proudly displayed, she says.

New attractions included gumboot throwing and Lob-aChoc.

“With carnival games, rides, international food stalls, cafe and cakes, gifts, plants and produce, raffles, pony rides and silent auctions.

“There really is something for everyone.”

Money raised would be used for the Year 5 and 6 Camp being held at Port Waikato that would provide development opportunities for the students.
