Tairua Trail and Tides Half Marathon: The event showcasing everything beautiful about Tairua. Half marathon and 10km and 5km courses options. November 7.

Waihi Beach — Meet Your Community: Come along to the Waihi Beach Community Centre after lunch on Sunday to meet lots of locals, discover new groups, clubs and organisati­ons, at this fun community expo. Bring the whole family, there’s plenty for the kids to do too — volunteer fire brigade displays, face painting, crafts plus lots more. Waihi Beach Community Centre, Beach Rd, November 15 from 12-2.30pm.

XTERRA Trail Challenge Waihi: The challenge is all about getting people to some of the best off-road locations around. November 21 at Dicky Flat Campground.

Waihi Lions Garden Ramble: This year the Garden Ramble will have you visiting town and country gardens on the south side of Waihi and East to West to Waikino. There will be light refreshmen­ts for sale and a plant stall at one of the gardens. Tickets are $20each available from Waihi Mitre 10, Beach Road Garden Centre, Waihi Beach Home and Hardware and Country Dog Paeroa. Tickets will be for sale shortly. All proceeds to Westpac Helicopter and Hetheringt­on House. November 14-15. Repco Beachhop: Famous Rock N Roll festival held yearly in Waihi and Whangamata. Repco Beach Hop is one of New Zealand best celebratio­ns of the 50s & 60s. November 25-29 throughout Whangamata.

Go Waihi Warm Up Party: Waihi is the first leg for many travelling through to the Beach Hop. Cars galore, GIGS

Hopetoun Brown with Finn Scholes: October 30 at Kauaeranga Hall. Tim Stewart and Nick Atkinson with trumpet player, Finn Scholes for a mix of jazz, soul, R&B, and blues. The ABBA Show: Direct from Australia, the ABBA tribute band is back at Thames War Memorial Civic Centre, 200 Mary St, November 14. Paeroa RSA and Citizens Club on

October 30 at 7pm.
