Ugly Customers on stage

-

Whangamata Theatre Society are really pleased to hopefully be able to perform their latest comedy Ugly Customers by Joe Musaphia.

With the closure of so many banking services, Ugly Customers is a relevant comedy about the current situation. It revolves around an elderly couple, Harold and Laura Stacey who are disgruntled with the service they receive from their bank of many years.

At heart, Ugly Customers is a plea for a return to good old-fashioned manners, not just in the commercial world, but in everyday life. In a delightful scene, Harold and Laura teach the bank manager telephone etiquette.

The cast of six has been rehearsing for many months and with the advent of lockdown levels which interrupted the initial performing of Ugly Customers, they continued with Zoom sessions and are now really looking forward to being able to perform the play from November 16-20.

■ Five evening performances at 7pm and a matinee on Saturday, November 20 at 2pm. Tickets from Pumice Patch, Port Rd, or for online, email Lorna Judd on laj@scifi.geek.nz.
