MONDAY MORNING VETS: A great field of 51 vets played the final round of the Vets par competition. With such a large field, it was unusual that the day ended with a matrimonial battle. Winning the day (as she probably usually does) was Kristine Gascoigne with a score of +7, which was one ahead of her husband Francis with +6! In third place was Gyan Prole with +5, while Susan Mustard and Jenny O’dwyer were tied on +4. Kaylene Croker and Sam Gurney both finished on +3.
The winner of the three-round competition was Francis Gascoigne, who won this time with
a three-round score of +6, and in second place, and the first lady, was Jenny O’dwyer with +2. WEDNESDAY LADIES: The day was given for the Ccaptain to choose the competition, and the ladies played a fun 18 holes of randomlydrawn pairs, playing Heads & Tails. The rules and explanation are beyond the writer’s ability to explain, but the winners were Jill Morrison and Jenny O’dwyer with a net two, Lynda Thomson had the top score with 21 points, with Margaret Hickey one shot behind with 20. Julia Nicolson had 17, while Jill Mason finished with 16 points.
