Norton to star in Thames
Thames Music Group proudly presents an afternoon of musical delights with Denise Norton on March 11.
Norton’s versatility spans from classics to cabaret and jazz, and has been in the music industry for more than 20 years - rising to be one of New Zealand’s most successful international stage performers.
Norton won her first talent show at the age of 11, and at 13 she became a private pupil of Dame Sister Mary Leo.
She joined the stage production of Evita in New Zealand, also completing the Australian and Hawaiian tours, before arriving in London.
She participated in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Requiem and did a comedy Music Hall at Charring Cross theatre before setting her sights on Europe.
After touring as Mary Magdalene in Jesus Christ Superstar, Norton joined the cast of Cats in Hamburg – the first of many Broadway productions to start a new wave of excitement in Germany.
Now living in Thames, Norton will perform with pianist Mark Bradley at St George’s Church on March 11. The performance will feature songs by Gershwin, Sondheim, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Streisand.
Tickets are $15 or $13 for TMG members, $5 for students. Tickets are only available at the door. www.thamesmusicgroup.com.
