Wild Pork and Watercress By Barry Crump, PenguinRandomhouse, $38

Both of these NZ classics have been reissued to coincide with the release of film adaptations. Crump’s tale of a friendship forged in the bush between a rebellious young city kid and his cantankerous foster uncle was first published in 1986. It features shots and stills from the film, which stars Sam Neill and Julian Dennison. It figures to be as much fun as the book itself. — Graeme Barrow
