Good time to adopt a pet

Havelock North Village Press - - News -

We are part-way through the school holidays now but it’s still a perfect time to adopt a new family member while everyone is home and can spend quality time with your new pet.

New pets need that bonding period so they get to know everyone in the family and their new surroundings and start to understand that this is their new forever home.

What better time to do this than while children and parents are at home for the holidays?

We have plenty of cats, kittens, puppies and a couple of dogs all available for adoption. These animals have come to us through no fault of their own. They deserve a second chance and have so much love to give. Please give them a chance and make the SPCA your first choice to find a new pet.

All SPCA animals have been vet-checked, had at least one vaccination, flea and worm treatment, are de-sexed and micro-chipped and once adopted we will register their details with yours on the New Zealand Companion Animal Register to give you the best chance of being reunited with your pet if they go missing.

SPCAs do charge an adoption fee which helps us towards the cost of caring for the animals in need and getting them ready for adoption, however this is still very good value for money and ensures you take on a pet that has had all the necessities done and without the worry of unwanted kittens/puppies.

NEEDY: SPCAs across the country are full after a booming kitten season.
