Photo friendly sign for Village

Havelock North Village Press - - News -

Tourists visiting Havelock North and village locals alike have a new spot to pose for photos, with a sign going up in the Village Green.

The sign, which says “Love Havelock North” was funded by the Havelock North Business Association from their sculpture fund. It was made by Hastings signmaking company Axis CNC, and installed by Hastings District Council. President of the Havelock North Business Association, Jane Mackersey, said the Village only had small signs saying it was Havelock North up until now. The new sign would give people a place to take pictures, with Te Mata Peak in the background, to remember their time spent in the Village.

She said the sign gave people the opportunity to pose in a variety of fun ways, such as poking their head through the ‘O’.

The Village Green Sign is going to be moved, to stop the space looking cluttered.

Mackersey said the sign also helped create consistency for Havelock North’s branding. Those posting pictures with the sign to social media should use the hashtag #lovehavelocknorth.
