More electricity rebates for CHB
Centralines passing on discount to power customers
Power consumers in Central Hawke’s Bay can expect to see this month’s power bill dive, with most due for a $122 discount — just a month after many received an additional “winter warmer” of almost $1000.
Central Hawke’s Bay (CHB) consumer-owned lines company Centralines this week announced a $1.4 million discount, would be provided to its 8042 consumers.
The discount is additional to the $905 tax-paid distribution payment which trustees of the CHB Consumers Power Trust delivered to consumers last month.
Central Hawke’s Bay Consumers Power Trust chairman Alistair Setter said the trust was very happy with the performance of the board and management of Centralines.
“It is pleasing that consumers can continue to share in the company’s success following excellent financial results and strong network performance.”
Centralines chairman Jon Nichols said Centralines is committed to powering a vibrant Central Hawke’s Bay through exploring continued growth opportunities and delivering a reliable network.
“We do this through our high-quality electricity supply, expanding the CHB network, investing in technology and network enhancements, while sponsoring a number of community services and providing employment opportunities,” he said.
All CHB power consumers connected to the Centralines network on May 31, 2018, will receive the discount.
Nichols said consumers should keep an eye on their August power bills to ensure they have received the discount.
“It will appear as a one-off Centralines credit on each power bill, which is issued by their electricity retailer.
“The amount varies depending on how much electricity consumers have used over the past 12 months, and how many installation control points [ICP] they have. However, a residential consumer will receive on average $122 per ICP.”
Consumers with questions, or who haven’t received the discount by the end of September, should contact their electricity retailer.
