Hole-in-one proves number 13 isn’t unlucky for golfer

-

Dannevirke’s Nick Boardman says he was “chuffed” to score a hole-in-one at the local golf course recently — 13 years after his first ace.

Playing in the regular Dannevirke seniors golf tournament on a Tuesday, Boardman made his hole-inone on the par 3 17th hole.

“My last hole-in-one was 13 years ago and I reckon there was a lot of luck involved because on the 17th you can either go too fast, too slow, or left or right of the hole, so I was chuffed,” he said.

“The two chaps I was playing with said they’d never seen anything like it and, of course, they were happy because I shouted later on.”
