● Is it fair the media continue to release taped phone conversations by Jami-Lee Ross while he is mentally unstable? Later, when well, sure, if he still feels it is necessary but he is being manipulated by a few “drop-outs” behind the scenes at present.

● Why would texter think people who dislike fireworks hate families and kids? Maybe it is the reverse and they hate seeing the misery fireworks can cause these families when the irresponsible idiots misuse them, causing damage, injury and heartache.

● Just watching X Factor on TV 1. Doesn’t anyone sing these days. They all scream or shout! J ● Supermarkets getting rid of use of plactic bags. Why doesn’t supermarkets go back to the old system, when cardboard boxes were used to pack groceries. Extra work and walking for staff. Instead of breaking down boxes.

● Thumbs up to Mitre10 who are supplying carboard boxes for purchases . . . this is great to see

● More pontificating in today’s paper about water . . . why don’t we all put in rainwater tanks, capture the water, put in UV units, a small water pump, and tell the councils we don’t want there water, we get no chemicals, they get no need to provide water or water infrastucture to existing or future housing developments, a win win. Baz ● Shaun Bates makes some very good points the core function of council is providing and maintaining the city’s infrastructure. The council responce indicates they will take the lzy optoon and have no intention of removing chlorine from the system. The Christchurch model indicates it’s possible for Napier it’s essential.

● Great article featuring Shaun Bates. Shaun Bates is going places! He does so much for the community and has such a positive view. Napier is very lucky to have a guy like him!

● Come on Hastings City New World — you charge the earth for your groceries so can’t you employ some packers?

● Thank you Pauline for another reminder to us all that there is no need to have chlorine in our water. But nobody is changing anything despite the people of Napier clearly not wanting the chlorinated water. When amalgamation with Hastings was discussed Napier was happy to boast about the lack of debt they had by sound financial management. But If NCC had been doing its job they would have continued to maintain the network.
