New clinic rooms
People booked for planned surgery at Hawke’s Bay Hospital will now attend their preadmission appointments in revamped and extended clinic rooms on the Hawke’s Bay Hospital campus. The district health board’s former Renal House cottage, on the corner of Omahu and Canning Rds, has undergone extensive building alterations and will from Monday be home to preadmission clinic appointments, following the transfer of renal services to another site on campus. The name of the new clinic is “Te Kuhunga ki te Waiora” — which means entry or gateway to wellbeing. Previously, pre-admission appointments were held within Hawke’s Bay Hospital’s day surgery clinic. The new clinic rooms provide space and privacy away from daily hospital busy-ness.
