Napier Port is joining in on the national Roaring Chorus for Armistice Centenary commemorations tomorrow. Up and down the country at 11am tomorrow, November 11, people will come together to observe a two minute silence of remembrance. This silence will be broken by joyful noise, echoing the celebrations of 100 years ago when people filled the streets in a spontaneous and jubilant celebration at news of the war’s end. The Roaring Chorus begins at 11.02am and ships in port tomorrow are invited to join in with a few cheerful toots on the horn. Port people working in the container terminal and other parts of the port are also invited to sound their horns.
