● I am not taking a shot at the Government. I don’t think it’s in their province. I just cannot get my head around the staggering cost of treatments that so many people come up against. How can the pharmaceutical industry come up with, let alone justify, the cost to Mrs McNicol to receive the treatment she so desperately needs.

● Wake up texter. Napier Airport have NO responsibility in the rescheduling of flights. It is totally the responsibility of the individual airline who make these decisions. Get your facts right and if an issue — get the particular airline mobile app and you’ll be kept informed!

● Lions Club Xmas cakes will be sold outside Countdown Carlyle next Friday, November 30 from 10am. They are $18

● Well done Civil Defence. Signal went out to all phones that are less than 2.5 years old. I am a pensioner so cannot afford a new phone every year. Does that mean pensioners don’t matter? AR

● PC gone nuts . . . women Father Christmas. Maybe Cinderella was a man in drag! Some things just need to be left alone.

● Couldn’t agree more with texter re car parking in Napier city — or rather the lack of!!! Large area along Marine Parade blocked off with road cones ‘Buses only’. Took 20 mins driving around before I found a park and if I hadn’t had an appointment in town I would have given up. No wonder we prefer to shop online & it costs less than $10 to get goods delivered!! And now we can only park for a maximum of 2 hours which isn’t enough time if you want to do some shopping & maybe lunch.

● Monday texter, you forget NZ is a small country & gives generously, but cannot be compared to other ‘rich countries’ ie Australia, Canada.

● Vaughan Gunson says mobilising old fashioned nationalism in NZ. So patriotic. Great we still have non PC people in NZ.

● Another Labour election bribe, like Kiwibuild, to backfire spectacularly, is 1st year free university study. Costing us taxpayers $2.8 billion a year statistics show students using it were going to varsity anyway and has not been taken up by the more disadvantaged which is was designed for.

● Interesting those petrol heads watching the car racing at Newcastle Aus this weekend the track was 26km long and it took 1min 10secs per lap. This is the same distance as from Napier to Hastings it would be good if the nerdos would speed up a bit and cut down the daily travel time
