Geoff Sewell performs for Christmas Geoff

Sewell is confirmed as the headline act for Cox Partners Christmas at the Park 2018. We are thrilled to have an international performer of Geoff’s calibre involved in this popular celebration on Saturday, 15th December 2018. Although Sewell is based in London, he has a personal connection with Hawkes Bay having attended High School in Havelock North. He became an international classical crossover star in the “opera band” AMICI FOREVER before leaving the group in 2006 to embark on a solo career. Sewell has had three No.1 albums with Amici’s “The Opera Band” and “Defined,” and his own solo debut, “Believe” reaching over 3.5 million album sales worldwide. With Amici Forever, he was nominated for a Classical Brit Award in the UK for best album. Other performers at the event also have a strong connection with Hawkes Bay including soft rock band BLUE SALOON and APRA award winner Danica Bryant, a senior student at Napier Girl’s High School. A variety of other popular artists will entertain the crowd throughout the evening beginning at 5:00 pm and culminating with choreographed fireworks, which have become a much-anticipated highlight of the evening. The Hawkes Bay Regional Sports Park is hosting Cox Partners Christmas at the Park this year - the first time the Percival Road venue has been used for a major performance event. The park is easily accessible from both Hastings and Napier from the Expressway, with excellent on-site parking. Cox Partners Christmas at the Park is a free, family friendly event facilitated by Kaizen Trust with an army of community volunteers. It is funded by sponsorship, voluntary contributions and trust funding. To ensure a family, friendly atmosphere is maintained no alcohol, nor smoking is permitted. For children there are free activities in the Laser Force Children’s Zone including face painting and a confidence course. While concert goers are encouraged to bring a picnic, a range of food vendors will also be available for purchase.
