Hope for cheated workers
A group of in-limbo Chinese construction labourers could soon be back working. Immigration NZ is investigating allegations from about 30 people who say they are jobless and homeless. They claim they paid tens of-thousands of dollars for work visas to a man who promised work that has never eventuated. Immigration Minister Iain LeesGalloway says their visa conditions could possibly be changed so they can work for other people. He says job offers for the workers have been sent to the union supporting them.
