Rescue chopper busy
The Hawke’s Bay rescue helicopter was kept busy last week, with eight callouts. One incident was in Patoka, where a 14-month-old was choking, and eventually had to be transferred to Hawke’s Bay Hospital by road. The helicopter also attended a crash in Masterton on the way back from transferring a patient to Wellington Hospital. Hawke’s Bay ICU doctors on board assisted a motorcyclist until the Life Flight Rescue Helicopter arrived to transfer the patient to Wellington.
