Residents set to return

-

After a careful risk assessment, it’s been decided Wakefield residents can return home after the fire threat eases. Police say residents can return immediately. People will need to be able to prove they live in the town. Civil Defence controller Roger Ball says an element of risk remains, so people should be ready to evacuate at short notice. Those who live in the four valleys — Eves, Redwood, Teapot and Pigeon — will have to wait at least until tonight to go home.
