Malan eyes new job

CRICKET: There’s every chance Heinrich Malan will apply for the soon-to-be-vacant Black Caps batting coach position. The current Central Districts coach is a frontrunner for the job, with Craig McMillan vacating the position at the end of the World Cup in July. Malan helped CD to last season’s first-class title and back-to-back Ford Trophies in 2015 and 2016. This season the Stags are in Friday’s Super Smash elimination final and lead the Plunket Shield after four rounds.
