● It would be great if this Govt would just think before they legislate. A tax on utility vehicles is a huge burden on the very people that contribute most to our economy! Builders, plumbers, electricians, farmers, foresters etc. Fair enough if there were viable alternatives but this is clearly another anti-small business move which is becoming all too common! And yet another Tax!

● Thank you to former HDC manager Russell Engelke for his huge contribution to the CBD development. His ability, integrity and people skills are sadly missed. HBRC is lucky to have him.

● How can the HBRC create a regional park on the eastern side of Te Mata¯ when they haven’t consulted anyone and the Commissioners haven’t come back with their decision! What is wrong with these people!

● What a hilarious article by

Steve Braunias still laughing

● Who is this person txing Tues 9th, re retirement age and what should be expected of retiree? Will remind txer, this is a free country, not a dictatorship, if a person chooses to do volunteer work, fine and dandy. But, if that person chooses to travel the world, spend time with their grandchildren, sunbathe naked, read a book, learn to fly, breed dogs, the list is endless!!

● This Government needs to stop being bully boys re electric cars. Let people choose what they want to drive. Remember what happened to the last Labour Government when they started telling us all what to do. Roll on next year.

● Private bottlers currently source crystal clear water from the same aquifer. Why can’t the NCC? Or is it the case that the city’s infrastructure is third world?

● When is acting mayor Faye White going to justify her outrageous claim that it will cost Napier ratepayers $100 million to rid the city of chlorine?

● “Council fees hurting.” As ratepayers and dog owners we couldn’t agree more. But wait. There’s more . . . Just imagine the increase in rates should the Prebensen (Napier Aquatic Centre) site go ahead. LM ● Will council be removing car parks with this beautification project?
