Milk policy sours customers
I am a (retired) registered nurse and consumer of raw milk for over nine years from Lyndsay Farm. I do believe that my training has given me some knowledge on food safety.
Like many people involved with the raw milk/husbandry scheme of Lyndsay Farm, I am appalled at MPI’s vigour with which they try to stop the scheme.
I understand that MPI is trying to protect us from ourselves. Raw milk, if not stored or used right, poses a health risk.
So do many other natural food products. Like chicken meat — if left out too long or not cooked properly it poses at least as much of a risk.
Can we expect MPI to now ban the sale of raw chicken as well? If not, WHY NOT? Is there a different agenda?
From what I read, MPI has heard of four cases where the consumption of raw milk MAY have contributed to gastrointestinal unwellness. MAY HAVE!
I have not heard of MPI having found any unhealthy practices at Lyndsay Farm, which I have visited and am proud of.
I beg you to allow us consumers the choice to obtain raw milk, a choice we treasure.
